William married (1) Susan A. BOWLES [4] daughter of Watson B. BOWLES and Elizabeth SCOTT on 01 Oct 1871 in , Kaufman, Texas, USA. Susan was born on 14 Aug 1852 in , Kaufman, Texas, USA. She died [5] on 22 Sep 1890 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. She was buried in Rockwall Cemetery, Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas.

Susan, a daughter of W. B. Bowles, was born in Texas 14 August 1852, both of her parents were born in Kentucky and were early pioneers of the Rockwell area.

William Curtis and Susan A. had three sons; Benona Buford, John H. and Leonidas, and two daughters; Edna and Kate Lanham:

(i.) Son, Benona Buford LANHAM [6] [3] [5] [7] was born [8] on 14 Sep 1872 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. He died in 1966 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. He was buried in Rockwall Cemetery,Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas. B.B. Lanham and Lonnie Walker operated a grocery business in Rockwall. [3] Benona married Lillie W. (Lillie May) WILLESS [6] [7] daughter of Benjamin WILLESS and Amanda Lou (Mandy) TRUITT about 1900. Lillie was born [9] on 21 May 1879 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. She died in 1968 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. She was buried in Rockwall Cemetery, Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas. Benona died 1966 and Lillie died 1968, and both are buried at Rockwall. Benona and Lillie had two daughters; Orene and Thelma. Orene Lanham, was born at Rockwall 1901, and married Emmitt C. Meridith, who was born 1895. Orene died and Emmitt died 1976 and both are buried at Rockwall.

(ii.) Daughter, Thelma L. LANHAM was born [10] in 1905 in of ,,, USA. She died in 1985 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. She was buried in Rockwall Cemetery, Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas. Thelma married Roy Cleo BLACKETER. Roy was born in 1904. He died in 1990 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. He was buried [10] in Rockwall Cemetery, Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas.

(iii.) Son, John H. LANHAM was born in Oct 1874 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. John married Millie A. (maiden name unknown). Millie was born in Jan 1878 in ,, Tennessee, USA.

(vi.) Daughter, Kate LANHAM was born in Jul 1882 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. Kate married Ed M. STOUT. [6] [13] Ed was born on 03 Mar 1881. They lived in Denison, Texas. He died on 27 Jan 1915 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. He was buried in Rockwall Cemetery, Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas.

William married (2) Josie (maiden name unknown) about 1891. Josie was born in 1891 in ,, Missouri, USA. Her father was born in Virginia. William Curtis and Josie had four sons; Grover, Cleo, W. C. and Fredric and three daughters; Oma, Willie Faye and Freddie Lanham:

(ix.) Daughter, Willie Faye LANHAM was born in Jun 1986 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. Willie married a BOYD. They lived in Denton, Texas.

(x.) Son, Fredric LANHAM was born in 1900 in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA.

(xi.) Son, Cleo LANHAM was born in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA.

(xii.) Daughter, Freddie LANHAM was born in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. Freddie married a SLOCOMB .

(xiii.) Son, W. C. LANHAM was born in Rockwall, Rockwall, Texas, USA. He was a pall bearer for Bonnie, of the Bonnie and Clyde Barrow fame. Susan A. Lanham died 22 September 1890 and is buried at Rockwall, Texas. William Curtis Lanham died 1933, and is buried at Rockwall, Texas.

W.C. Lanham was an elder of the Christian Church of Rockwall. [3] Some of the outstanding members of this church were: B.B.Lanham, W.G. Scott, Wm.C. Lanham, father of B.B. Lanham. [3]
