John married [1] Mary DICKINSON on 11 Feb 1708 in St John Parrish, Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. Mary was born about 1688 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England.
They had the following children: Thomas Jr., John III, Mary, William, Elizabeth, Eleazer (Ely), Elisha, Elizabeth (second time) and Dorothy Lanham.

In the name of God, Amen, I John Lanham Senior of Prince George's County thro the Mercy and goodness of God the weak in body yet of a perfect understanding this my last will and Testament as follows I make and appoint my beloved wife Executrice of this my last will and Testament and charge her with all my debts legacies and funeral charges.
Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter, Daurity (Dorothy) on Hundred and six acres of land which I had by my wife; and she is willing to give it to hir after hir death where unto she Doth set her hand and seal; to hir and hir heirs and assigns for ever.
Item - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary all and singular my moveable Estate during hir life and after hir Decease to be equally divided between my six children, Vis. Thomas, Mary, Eleazer, Elisha, Elizabeth and Daurity, as Witness my hand and seal this 4th day of February 1763.

(i.) Son, Thomas LANHAM [1] [3] Jr. was born on 07 Mar 1709 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. Thomas married Margaret (maiden name unknown). Margaret was born ca 1716 and died 1761-1766.

(ii.) Son, John LANHAM [1] was born on 14 Aug 1712 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. He died in 1750. John married (1) [4] Mary PILE on 16 Jan 1739 in ,, Maryland, Colony of England. Mary was born 30 may 1721. Mary and John had one son, Hunter.

Thomas Lanham Jr., and John Lanham III, conveyed to John Hawkins Jr., 19 September 1738 for 4,400 pounds of tobacco, land in Prince George’s Co., called "Chance", an inheritance from their father John Lanham Jr. [5]
(iii.) Daughter, Mary LANHAM [1] [3] was born on 03 Jan 1714 in , Prince Georges, Maryland, Colony of England. Mary married (1) John PALMER [3] on 22 February 1735. They had a daughter, Rachel, and a son William Palmer.
